Welcome Back, Special Olympians!  Our division may be called PaddleAll now, but make no mistake - it's all about our Special Olympians! 

 

We're coming off an amazing season!  We had TWO athletes named to Team Ontario (Congratulations Mercedes & Stone!) and we had some amazing personal accomplishments (Chloe and Dom competing in Pro events for the first time).

 

Special O Paddling isn't all about racing.  Paddling is for everyone, and if exploring the lake with friends is more your jam, we have a spot just for you! 

 

New paddlers will start off in Touring (recreational) kayaks, and when they are comfortable, will have the option to try surfskis and Pro (racing) kayaks.  When paddling surfskis and Pro kayaks, tips will happen - it's part of learning the sport. Our safety boat will always be nearby ... just in case!

Training Groups:  

Green:  New paddlers, or those who just want a relaxed, social time on the water.

Gold: Paddlers with prior experience, looking for a bit more challenge on the water.  We'll go a bit farther and faster with this group. 

Red: Returning paddlers with a need for speed!  This is our competitive group, and we'll focus on buiding speed and working in crew boats to maximize racing opportunities. Note! Our Red group will have 2 practices per week!

Save the Dates!!  We will be travelling to the following 2026 regattas: 

July 19, and July 25 or 26 for Divisional races.   Provincials: Aug. 15/16, and Nationals: Aug. 25-29 (2 days only).  We plan to attend the Fallapalooza training camp with Special Olympians (Sept 26 in Carleton Place), and the Ottawa River Paddle Challenge (Date TBD).    PaddleAll athletes can race in either Touring or Pro kayaks.  Double the fun by pairing up with another Special Olympian in a K-2, or with an able athlete or coach in Unified K-2 races.

Athletes are eligible to race when they can steer independently and hold their position at the start line.
