This ain't 'cottage' paddling!
Sprint paddling is a fun, full-body workout that challenges (and improves) balance, coordination and overall fitness.
Peterborough Canoe and Kayak Club (PCKC) offers day and evening programs for individual and crew paddling in racing-style canoes and kayaks. Our Coaches are paddlers and competitors, themselves, and they find exciting ways to coach our athletes (young, and not-so-young) to be ready for the starting line!

YOUTH SPRINT CAMPS
Week-long full-day programs Through July.
Suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers, alike. Ages 8-13
LEADERSHIP CAMP
Leadership Skills, Coaching Skills, First Aid & CPR Certification, and some paddling!
3 full days: July 2-4
HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING (New Format!)
Did you know sprint paddling is perfect crosstraining for skiiers, swimmers and hockey players? It is! Train yourself with other like-minded athletes in this challenging, summer-long training program. Coached by National Team Canoeist Zoe Bergeron!
YOUTH DRAGON BOAT TEAM (New!!)
Watch here for details about a youth dragon boat team. Dryland training begins in early spring. Email us for details!
COMPETITIVE PROGRAM (New!)
For our serious paddlers - whether you plan to compete or not! This coached program runs from June through September, and will help paddlers prepare for sprint and long distance events throughout the season. (prior sprint paddling experience is recommended)
COMMUNITY PROGRAM
Not sure if paddling is for you? (It is!) This is a great low-pressure way to get on the water and build your fitness and paddling skills. At each practice you have the option to choose the coached workout or the 'fun' paddle. Suited to paddlers of all ages and abilities - yes - even beginners!! Tuesday & Thursday evenings, July/August.
DRAGON BOAT FULL CREW (New!)
Welcoming beginner and intermediate paddlers! Head out on the water with 19 of your new best friends for a great workout! July/Aug.

PCKC is deeply committed to helping paddlers of all abilities gain confidence, independence and paddling skills out on the water.
Our caring staff and volunteers understand that every paddler is unique - we have three PaddleAll programs, and a wide-ranging fleet of boats to support each paddler's experience, ability and goals.
Whether you're a beginner, or a National Champion, you're welcome here!
Every paddler who can steer and hold position at the start line is eligible to race, regardless of their training group.
